Bidriware is a metal handicraft that originated in Bidar, Karnataka, in the 14th century Bidar is still the only town that manufactures the unique metalware with striking inlay artwork. The metal used is a blackened alloy of zinc and copper inlaid with thin sheets of pure silver.
The Vithala temple, which is also known asthe most splendid monument of Hampi is situated on the Southern bank of the Tungabhadra River. It is a world heritage monument dating back to the 15th century and is known forits extensive sculptured work, ornate pillars and the carvings that decorate them. The temple consists of 56 musical pillars. When tapped gently, these pillars produce musical sounds. These pillars are popularly known as Musical Pillars.
